Mini Soccer is an introduction to soccer and provides an environment where children can learn soccer skills, physical literacy, social development and cooperation and have fun. Mini Soccer is for new players and those who simply want to have fun and meet new friends.

U3 and U5
The Active Start program is an introduction to soccer for children to get their first touches on the ball and learn physical literacy, soccer skills, structured and unstructured play, social development and cooperation in a fun environment.
The program is designed for parents/guardians to stay and play with their child under the guidance of our staff and coaches.
U7
The Fundamentals program supports children to continue their soccer experience through physical literacy and introduces the 'foundation' of soccer interactions in structured and unstructured environments.

Volunteer coaches, supported when needed by Valley United staff, will deliver the team
programs. All Valley United coaches are mandated to complete all requirements by our governing bodies (Soccer Nova Scotia and Canada Soccer) including their soccer-specific training and a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector screen.
Skill Centres are skill development programs geared towards U9, U10 and U11 players that want to
focus more on soccer. They provide a challenging, enjoyable environment for players to develop
and nurture the skills required to succeed in soccer. Our program is aligned with Canada Soccer
and Soccer Nova Scotia’s Skill Centre principles.

There are two practices per week and participation in the NSSL Festival League. Festivals will
occur on 10 weekends throughout the season beginning in
June.

There will be several volunteer coaches and Valley United staff who will assist in the delivery of
the program. All Valley United coaches are mandated to complete all requirements by our governing bodies
(Soccer Nova Scotia and Canada Soccer) including their soccer-specific training and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screen.
Community soccer is for players who want to play games in a relaxed, fun environment where they are able to play with their friends in their local community. These programs are ideal for players who are not interested in the performance pathway or unable to commit as much time.
Whether you are new to the sport and want to try it out or have experience playing but don't wish to play at a competitive level, this is the spot for you.

COMMUNITY YOUTH (B)

Valley united offers programs for players from the club’s communities to represent Valley United in the Valley District league. There are male and female teams and the number of teams will depend on the number of registrations. If there is more than one team, efforts will be made to ensure the teams are balanced.

Youth performance programs are geared towards players who are committed to soccer and
teams participate in the Nova Scotia Soccer League. Programs are offered at the U12, U13,
U15 and U18 levels.
Team selection and training starts in April with games beginning in May and continuing until late
August. Training generally happens twice a week with games on the weekends.
Players will generally receive a minimum of two team practices a week and 14-16 games during
the season.
