Skill Centres

Skill Centres are skill development programs for young players that want to focus more on soccer. They provide a challenging, enjoyable environment for players to develop and nurture the skills required to succeed in soccer. Our program is aligned with Canada Soccer and Soccer Nova Scotia’s Skill Centre principles. Skill Centre is open to all interested players. There are no tryouts for this group, but occasionally we may recommend an alternate pathway for players to develop and have success.

• Feedback to parents and players

Age Groups

• U9-U11 (born 2015/2018). All interested players are accepted until places are filled. There will be three groups for boys and girls:
  • U9 (born 2017/2018)
  • U10 (born 2016)
  • U11 (born 2015)

Season Details

• Team Formation Sessions early October
• Training and games late October - March
• Two weekly 60 minute training sessions
• Teams will participate in the NSSL Festival League. There will be eight Festivals on alternate weekends in Dartmouth throughout the season beginning in November. Usually two 25 minute games played each festival.

U11     $395

Fees include:

• $50 fund-raising fee (parents can collect back)
• Uniforms
• Team equipment
• Festival and referee costs
• Facility costs
• Technical staff and coaches
• Governing body fees including insurance

Coaching 

Valley United technical staff and volunteer coaches will assist in the delivery of the program.

All Valley United coaches are mandated to complete all requirements by our governing bodies (Soccer Nova Scotia and Canada Soccer) including their soccer-specific training and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screen.
