Youth Performance


April - August 2026


Youth performance programs are geared towards players who are committed to soccer and
teams participate in the Nova Scotia Soccer League. Programs are offered at the U12, U13,
U15 and U18 levels.


Team selection sessions will take place in late March and training starts in April with games beginning in May and continuing until late
August. Training generally happens twice a week with games on the weekends.


Players will generally receive a minimum of two team practices a week and 14-16 games during
the season.


U12A/AA

- 2 practices and 1 game per week (approximately half games are in the HRM Region)

- Training 60-90 minutes will take place in Wolfville at Tower or Acadia field

- Size 4 balls

- 9 v 9 in games

- Games 70 minutes

- Fair playing time

- no provincials

- tournament participation will be team specific

 

U13AA

- 2 practices and 1 game per week (approximately half games are in the HRM Region)

-  Training 60-90 minutes will take place in Wolfville at Tower or Acadia field

- Size 5 balls

- 9 v 9 in games

- Games 70 minutes

- Fair playing time

- no provincials

- tournament participation will be team specific

- Participation in Soccer NS ID Camp

 

U15AA and U18AA

- 2 practices per week to take place in New Minas or Wolfville

- Training 90 minutes

- 1 game per week ( approximately half of away games are in HRM region)

- Size 5 balls

- 11 v 11 in games

- Games 80 minutes U15 and 90 minutes U18

- Fair playing time

- tournament participation will be team specific

- Participation in playoffs and provincials at the end of the summer

Fees include:

  • $50 fund-raising fee (parents can collect back)
  • Uniforms
  • Team equipment
  • League and referee costs
  • Field costs
  • Governing body fees including insurance

Coaching
Volunteer coaches, supported when needed by Valley United staff, will deliver the team programs. Team communication will take place on the SPOND platform (app).  All Valley United coaches are mandated to complete all requirements by our governing bodies (Soccer Nova Scotia and Canada Soccer) including their soccer-specific training and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screen.
